What is the difference between cast and minted bars?
A cast bar is made by pouring molten gold into an ingot mould to shape bar into the gold product. A bar which has been minted will be made from a gold blank which has been hand cut to the precise dimensions needed from a flat piece of gold. Markings are usually applied by applying a press to the gold.
